Dr. Matsumoto received her PhD degree from the Tokyo Institute of Technology in Japan on the comparative policy analysis on air quality management in Japan and the United States. She joined IGES in 2002 and is currently affiliated with IGES as a part-time fellow, while
teaching at some universities as a part-time lecturer. The IGES' research areas she has been involved include transportation policies in Asia, biofuel policies, transboundary air pollution. and co-benefits.
